The annual week long SXSW conference and festival is quickly approaching as we are just a month away from the festival kicking off. A lot of new changes and sad goodbyes to brands that have been fan favorites of SXSW has taken the news. Capital One, the ever so popular favorite brand showcase during the interactive portion of the festival will not return this year and that left many SXSW veterans sad when the news broke. They hosted many amazing bands at Antone’s in the previous years such as CHVRCHES, Bishop Briggs, Shakey Graves, and Smash Mouth amongst others. A new sponsor addition is White Claw. The popular seltzer drink will be a huge sponsor for the festival and fans have been excited since the news came out and we are all excited to see what the brand brings to SXSW and if they’ll have their own showcase.
As always and what has been the best part of SXSW, the surprise and rumored artists that will be at SXSW is very nerve wrecking and can keep you up all night worrying if the rumors are true or not. With the Houston rodeo happening a week before SXSW, many people have already begun the rumors of some artists. that are no strangers to SXSW, might make a visit down to Austin. With the Austin Rodeo being minutes away from the downtown district of Austin where the festival is mostly held at, don’t be surprised if some artists performing at the rodeo make a stop downtown. Of course when artists are on tour during March, we have to put them on the rumor list if there’s a gap in between dates that make them free for a showcase or two during the festival. Especially if they are in Texas or in a nearby state.
We can speculate who we think might be at the festival and you can choose to believe or not believe in the rumors you hear on social media. One thing is for sure though, you do not want to miss out on SXSW this year.
